Bardic Madness XVII (2007): Martial Activities

Lord Abelard announces the following martial activities during the weekend. Be aware that there will be no martial activities on Saturday.

Friday night's torchlight tournament will be a challenge tournament: each fighter can challenge any other fighter to fight. The combatants will choose their particular weapons style, victory conditions, and format. (There will be a barrier available if they wish to fight over it, or they can fight in a normal tournament area.) This will be double elimination, unless there is a small turn-out (fewer than eight fighters) in which case we'll fight until everyone's tired.

We'll start about half an hour after dark, which should be around 7:30 or 8 PM. We intend to use the picnic shelter, unless the weather is fabulous in which case we'll use one of the fields. If the weather is too cold we'll try moving into the old assembly hall...but we'll make that call closer to the event.

Practice on Sunday from 10-2 will be open field practice: Inspections will begin at 10, and authorizations will be available by pre-arrangement (they should contact me directly at knappenp@jiffyscript.com to set them up) also beginning at 10; fighting can begin as early as 10:15. We will have open field practice until 12:30 when we will begin melees, and when people are done with those they can have open practice until 2.

We intend to use one of the fields for practice, but if the ground is too muddy we'll use the picnic area.

Please contact Abelard at knappenp@jiffyscript.com with any questions regarding martial activities at the event.
